Week 2 assessment
The Cinemark app allows me to browse through new movies in my local area and find a theater to watch the film. For a monthly fee of $9.99 I receive one ticket per month that I can redeem at any cinemark theater possible. The Cinemark app has great usability and can be used on-the-go anywhere that I can connect to the internet with my mobile device. The app is absolutely easy to use and operate. I can find my movie and theater and then purchase my tickets and after I redeem my tickets I am rewarded with points that I can later redeem for another ticket. When I get to the theater the employee scanning tickets at the door is able to scan the barcode on my phone in the app and redeem my ticket that I purchased from home. To make it even more convenient I can also head to the concession stand and use my app to get theater snacks at a discounted price.The app makes it easy to scroll through different theaters and browse options for new films. I can type in my zip code in the browser and the map will populate the closest theaters to me and what they are playing. The app will also show me the seats available at any given theater at any location. To give me even more incentive to purchase, the reward points that I build up from showing up to the movies and buying snacks can also get me a free movie ticket or a discounted snack. The app also allows me to start a wish list of future films that I would like to see. With "push notifications" enabled, I am able to hear about special offers, new rewards and advance tickets for upcoming features (see screenshots below).
The design of the app makes it easy to navigate and see titles of new films while also showing the time it will be played in the future. With the click of a button the app will send me too any trailer for any movie that is playing in theaters both now and later. Video is displayed up front and personal and each selection offers the option to watch the trailer for the film on the app before I make my purchase.
All in all the usability, design and functionality of the app makes it very easy for my movie experience and has even made my movie trips a little bit more relaxing and stress-free. Being able to purchase my tickets and picket my seats on-the-go is 100% worth it to me and I would recommend this app to anyone who watches movies. My only recommendations for the app would be to possibly add a fan club where like minded individuals can discuss the movie and leave reviews for certain films together and have some sort of open discussion. I would also like to see bigger rewards for movie-goers and refillable popcorn for reward holders. NEED THE REFILLABLE POPCORN!
in the feedback response I was asked "what are the main benefits of having this app and rewards?" I responded "The cinemark app is incredible and the first time I was able to use my rewards discount on popcorn and a drink was pretty memorable. When they told me the initial price and they were able to scan my phone and I got 20% off my popcorn and drinks was the best feeling ever for paying $10 a month being a frequent movie goer I thoroughly enjoyed that. "
